Grateful N’Doye: The Senegalese forward focused on his recovery - The Danish PFA took care of the paperwork

Dame N’Doye »felt safe all the way« as The Danish Football Players' Association helped him with the paperwork regarding his injury during his latest spell at F.C. Copenhagen. Now, the Senegalese international is ready to get back on the pitch.

On the pitch Dame N’Doye is a predator. A goal getter. His scoring records show that. Since his debut against Manchester City in 2009 he scored a total 118 goals for club for F.C. Copenhagen. In other words; he’s a specialist on a football pitch.

But he is no specialist when it comes to judicial process regarding injuries. Or insurances, pension schemes or sports savings for that matter. That is why, Dame N’Doye is a member of The Danish Football Players' Association. Or, as it is called in Danish, Spillerforeningen.

As a player, you are always affected by being injured, and it can be a complicated process with such an injury case - especially when you are a foreign player and do not know about the Danish system

When the Senegalese forward got injured back in August 2020 The Danish PFA stepped in and helped. While the union took care of all the paperwork, Dame N’Doye focused on his recovery.

- I have been really happy with the help I have received from the Players' Association when I was injured. As a player, you are always affected by being injured, and it can be a complicated process with such an injury case - especially when you are a foreign player and do not know about the Danish system. But it has been safe that the Players' Association has run the case for me, Dame N’Doye says.

- I have felt safe all the way, and it has given me peace of mind that I knew there was control. I didn’t have to worry about the paperwork and all the insurance. Instead, it has given me the opportunity to focus on my rehabilitation, which is a tough process, he states.

Before his last spell at F.C. Copenhagen, Dame N’Doye represented the likes of Lokomotiv Moskva, Hull City A.F.C. and Trabzonspor among others. Currently he is a free agent, but one thing is for sure: He is ready to get back in his right element – on the pitch, scoring goals.

- Now I am on the other side of my injury and I am again ready to play football.

Two compensations have been approved to Dame N’Doye. One from the Workers’ Compensation Act, which applies the entire Danish labor market. And one from the accident insurance included in the collective bargaining agreement covering football.
